we threw together a little backyard birthday party for lucy on monday, the day before her actual day.
we invited the neighbor kids and played our favorite party games-
musical chairs, freeze dance, doggie doggie where's your bone, red rover.
after cupcakes and ice cream and opening gifts...i was ready to say goodbye to the little friends.
side note: matt joked with cassie that if he made a basket from where he was standing, on the side yard-to the mini hoop across the yard on the patio-cassie would owe him her new party favor pack of gum...HE MADE IT! ali witnessed this amazing-ness and...
he's such a nice guy, he let her keep her gum.
tuesday morning started early.
the tradition seems to be to open presents on mom and dads bed first thing.
i can't bare to make them wait all day.
i brought donuts to lucy's kindergarten class that afternoon.
she was embarrassed when her classmates sang to her.
we had some of the family over for homemade chili and crusty white bread on tuesday evening.
whipping cream cake seems to always be a hit.
she's such a darling 6 year old.
she is smart, sometimes too much.
she is sweet and sassy spunky.
(i was reading this out loud to her and she didn't like the word sassy, so we changed it to spunky).
she is caring and likes to please her parents.
she likes to have fun and is especially good at the monkey bars and flips on the bar.
she loves to do whatever annie is doing and they are good sisters.
they share a room now and seem to enjoy being in there together.
she has really taken to all day kindergarten and i'm proud of her for being so adaptable.
our home wouldn't be the same without this little gal.
