cherry hill

oh my gosh. cherry hill was a blast.
and a blast from the past.

several months ago matt brought up the idea to camp at cherry hill. we've never taken the girls camping, besides sleeping in the backyard. the kehls wanted to join too. hooray.

we made it to kaysville faster than i thought we would. we snagged us a great site that would fit the kehls motor home and our tent with room to spare.

we cooked papa murphey's pizza's that night in the RV oven. then we took the kids down to "hamster haven" to run amock. the ball pit and little water boats were a hit. we all gathered in the kehl's motorhome that night. the kids were fascinated by the top bunk. their motorhome is pretty sweet. matt was on ksl searching for a 95' beauty for our own family.

the first nights sleep was far from my best. i somehow ended up without a pad and sleeping on the ground is hard on the ole 35 year old bod. the baby moved all over in the night and i was "prayin for daylight."

we had donuts, fruit and juice the next morning. we figured we wanted something easy and fast for breakfast...but the rides didn't open until 10:30...we would have had plenty of time for a lavish breakfast since we were up early with the kids.

we hit cardiac canyon as soon as the water park opened. i was sure the girls would be scared, i always was as a kid. but they surprised me. mom and dad met up with us and spent the rest of the day riding water slides, swimming, and lunching back at our campsite with us.

the girls really took to swimming in the pool with grandma, especially lucy. she figured out how to breathe under water without plugging her nose and grandma practiced with her swimming from the side of the pool.

the kids all loved the double dragon ride and we had fun racing each other down. we took turns staying with the littles while others rode the slides.

we bbq'd back at our site. lin and i pulled off great meals if i do say so myself, and i will. we wanted more fun so it was back to the water slides after dinner. the line got shorter and shorter for cardiac and we just couldn't stop ourselves from getting back in line. we probably rode it 8 times in a row.

after mom and dad left, we walked over to the concert happening. it was actually john diehl's band and they were really good. the kids were all so tired and falling asleep. i texted matt, who had stayed back at camp, and requested the van to pick us all up.

that night, matt put the two girls on the cot and we took the pads. we were all so tired we slept pretty good.

sunday morning we were packed up and outta there real slick. we made it back home just in time to shower and get to church.

the girls are already talking about when we go to cherry hill next time.
