roll prep before the big day.
brin and i made new name place settings this year.
we shared special news right before we sat down for our feast, that baby bateman #4 is on the way!
we had plans to tell the girls that morning but it just didn't work out. it was fun to surprise everyone together. no one even suspected!
everyone was sharing their blessings and writing them down on little feathers to pin on the turkey on the mantle. josie and lucy were the "readers." i wrote mine last and had lucy read it, "my mom is having a baby!" everyone was shocked and so surprised!
dinner was fabulous (and so much work!) we had the usual shrimp cocktails, turkey and potatoes, yams, stuffing, green beans, whipping cream salad, rolls, cranberries and creamed corn.
grandma has really wanted a new grandkid photo, so right after dinner we shuffled the kids to the backyard to snap a new photo. pretty cute if i do say so myself. even molly's smug face.
we hardly had any time to relax before we were loading up for the movie. we had a hard time finding our seats. cindy seare's family were already in our seats!! we looked at our tickets again and realized our tickets were for yesterday's show! mom had bought tickets for the wrong day. ha! we got our tickets refunded and some of us went back to moms to relax and visit. it was a blessing in disguise that we didn't make it to the movie that day.
we stuck around all day and evening and it was nice not to have to rush off. we enjoyed cheeseball and crackers, coconut cream, pecan and pumpkin pie, egg nog and left overs.
we always have a rich, full thanksgiving day. we have so much to be grateful for.
