annie sings "annie"

annie came home a few weeks ago with a flyer about the school talent show. (she wanted to tryout last year. she wanted me to teach her a dance!?, but that idea came and went).  

this year she decided she would sing a song. we somehow came up with the idea to sing a song from "annie" and quickly got to work finding the words to practice.

we downloaded a music only track we found on iTunes and burned the track to a CD. we practiced everyday. she really got into it...the drama was thick.

i figured they would do the tryouts after school so the littles and i showed up to support her. i found her class coming back from the computer lab. her teacher saw me and said, "she did such a great job." and then several of her classmates told me how good annie sings and what a great voice she has. ha. so cute. her teacher said as soon as she sang her song she knew she was going to pick her from her class. so...the tryout went well.

we practiced several times a day. i was nervous when it was go time that she would choke. 

matt came home early from work so he could be there. dad and lin and boys came to support her too. she did GREAT! she wasn't overly dramatic like she was when she practiced...nerves...but i was so proud of her. she didn't miss a beat and was really darling. just the fact that she was brave enough to try makes my heart burst.

sing a solo in front of the whole school as a 2nd grader...what will she do next?
